How does an AI Estimator quote an aluminium window?

It reads the sizes and system from your enquiry, derives every cut length from the frame — shutter width, rail cut, glass at the shutter less 68 mm — multiplies each section by its weight per metre, prices the total kilos at your rate, adds glass area, hardware, fabrication and installation, then nests the cuts into 6 m bars and returns the quotation with the elevation.

Sections, not line items

Your extrusion codes, their weight per metre, which ones are head, sill, jamb, stile, interlock and bead — and how many of each a 2-track slider needs.

Rebate geometry

Glass is the shutter less 68 mm because it sits 26 mm into the rebate each side. The daylight opening is a different number again, and both appear where they belong.

Finish and its cost

Powder coat by weight, anodising by surface, RAL against your supplier’s rate. A finish change re-prices the aluminium line, not the whole quotation.

Bar length and off-cut

Cuts nested across a real stock length, with the off-cut percentage stated rather than a flat wastage allowance bolted onto the end.

Aluminium systems: the usual questions.

Does it work with our system supplier’s catalogue?

Yes. We load whichever system library you buy from — the section codes, weights and profiles you already order against. If you run two suppliers, it runs both and prices the same enquiry either way so you can compare.

Can it price by weight and by unit?

Both. Aluminium is normally priced per kilo of finished section plus glass area, hardware sets and labour, and that is the default. If you quote certain products as a flat rate per unit or per square metre, it does that for those and keeps the weight take-off underneath for the factory.

What about site measurement variations?

Re-issue the enquiry with the measured sizes and it re-computes the whole set — cut lengths, glass sizes, weights, price — as a new revision, with the previous one kept. Because nothing was typed by hand the first time, nothing has to be re-typed the second.
